Motivate Your Mind Monday: 5 Ways To THINK Positive This Summer

With the first day of June already upon us, it’s time to start thinking about what exciting things you’ll be doing this summer. Here at THINK, we’re looking forward to some amazing trips to share our products, some relaxing days spent brainstorming, and of course, some summertime drinks to keep our creative juices flowing [bring on the sangria!].

More importantly, we’re looking forward to having the most positive summer ever! We are choosing to ‘think positive’ this summer [and every day!], and we hope you will choose to do the same. To help you out, we’ve created these 5 ways to THINK positive this summer! We hope these tips will help you overcome negativity in order to live your most positive summer yet!

  1. See the optimistic viewpoint in every situation

Every situation that you encounter in life has both a positive and a negative side. Focusing on the negative side of a situation will cause you to have a negative mindset. By choosing to see each situation from an optimistic viewpoint, you will be able to fill your life with positive thoughts and positive feelings. This summer, consciously make an effort to see both the positive and negative side to each situation you encounter and then choose to focus on the positive side. Trust me, you’ll be much happier in the long run!

  1. Exercise + be active

I cannot stress enough how important daily exercise is for living a happy and positive life. As I’m sure you’ve heard before, exercise releases endorphins in your brain that cause you to feel good. Because of this release of endorphins, people tend to feel better after they exercise. I choose to get my workouts in early in the morning to start my day off with a positive bang! The style of exercise you choose to do can vary, as long as you’re getting 30 minutes to an hour of activity in every day. Walk, run, lift weights, jump on the trampoline, go for a swim, try out some aerial yoga, anything that gets your body moving!

  1. Stop comparing yourself to others

They say that comparison is the thief of joy, and I couldn’t agree more! It is unfair to compare yourself to others. The only person you should be comparing yourself to is the person you were yesterday! Rather than wasting time and effort comparing yourself to others, you could put that time and effort towards being one step better, stronger or faster than you were yesterday. You possess unique and beautiful qualities that no one else on this earth possesses. Embrace those qualities! Let them shine! Be proud of who you are and what you can do! Don’t throw away your happiness by comparing yourself to others.

  1. Be grateful

In order to ‘think positive,’ you have to focus on the positive aspects of your life, and what better way to do this than by giving gratitude for all that you have. Be grateful for small things, big things, and everything in between! By giving gratitude for the things you have, you’ll find that you have more things to be grateful for than you realized. The more gratitude you give, the more you’ll have to be grateful for and the more positive your life will be. Think about keeping a gratuity journal to help you keep track of all the beautiful aspects of your life that you’re grateful for.

  1. Realize that you are in charge of how you feel

You are the master of your own happiness. You decide how you react to situations, how you let other people affect you, and what mindset you use to view the world. Why let that mindset be a negative one? Ultimately, your happiness and your positivity are up to you! Once you realize that ‘it’s all in your mind,’ you’re able to not only embrace positivity, but exude it in everything that you do.

I hope that these five tips will help you start to think positive this summer. You can’t live a positive life with a negative mind – so the first step towards creating a positive lifestyle for yourself is to ‘think positive!’ With these tips in hand, I hope you’re all able to have the most positive summer ever!
