Running To Give Back

This Sunday, THINK will be sponsoring Nathalie Johnson as she runs in the Tinker Bell Half Marathon to support the Special Olympics!

In addition to sponsoring her, we've also donated to her cause. With the money she's raised, lives of more than 17,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities will be enriched through sports, education, and athlete health. The money raised not only provides equipment, uniforms, and training for these athletes, but also gives them empowerment, joy, and improved health.

We love that we're able to be part of Nathalie's fitness journey, while giving back to the community together.

Meet Nathalie! Read below to check out her inspiring story:

I started running almost 5 years ago, a friend convinced me to run a 5k! I had never ran a mile! I did it, it wasn't pretty but I did!

I started training for a 10k and this is really what started it all....I ran the Peachtree 10k in Atlanta, GA. It's the biggest 10k in the world, with over 60,000 runners! I was hooked! It's held on July 4th and I cannot explain the energy from the crowd, the runners! I will be back this July for my 5th consecutive Peachtree.

When I moved to Los Angeles 3 years ago, this is when I started running with various running groups. I started posting my runs on Instagram and found so many inspiring runners...one of the goals I had was to run 13 half marathons in 2013! I actually crushed that goal!

Through the years I have learned so much about myself, my body and what it means to live a healthy lifestyle. No run is ever the same, your body changes and you need to treat it well if you want it to treat you well. The running groups I joined are all different, some focus on races, some on exploring the city, some are more for socializing.

BlacklistLA really made me look at Los Angeles on a different level. The street art is not permanent and changes all the time but yet has a powerful message if you get a chance to see it.

I also love to travel! Last year I was able to run in NYC, Hawaii and even London! In the next few months, I have signed up for races in Canada, San Fran, Nike Women's in London to name a few....and I am an avid hiker! I have met many inspiring runners, from the ones who run up mountains to ones that just decided to change their life and just started running.

GOOD LUCK, NATHALIE!!!!
